People in Paintings keep things interesting and relatable. After all, how many times do we look at paintings of people we never even knew or will know? I believe it’s all a matter of how we can relate to what we are looking at.
I worked with a man who wanted to turn this painting around so he could see the faces of the two people in the painting. That does, I suppose make sense on a normal persons level.
A friend of my grand-niece playing for Copper City.
A reverse painting on glass of my husband and myself.
Somewhere I would like to be.
A young lady named Rachael, whom I have much admiration of. Last year she ran for the Vernon Verona Sherrill track team, and as you can see, is a formidable force to be vying against.
Judy Garland and Ray Bolger in a classic.
When I began painting on glass, I was afraid to paint people. They might be insulted. I did several pet portraits, and never got bitten or snarled at, so somewhere along the line, I guess I got over it. Please feel free to browse through my web site to view more of my people in paintings!
A big part of my art is done in Changing Seasons, And I am jazzed to say that this series is being displayed at the opening of Jonny B’s Tavern this week.
There will be fine food in a family oriented restaurant, as well as spirits at the bar.. The Renee family have been working for weeks to clean up, spruce up and prepare for opening, so please do plan on enjoying dinner or ,lunch out in Floyd soon, at Jonny B’s Tavern. It’s at the same site as the former Oakey Dokey/Hi Way Inn on Rte. 365. And my good luck happened after introducing myself a while ago, The new owners agreed to feature my Changing Seasons Series in reverse painting on glass . I will be changing out the paintings as each new season arrives in order to keep things interesting in the décor.continue reading
Considering I am a native Roman, Paintings From Rome, New York is a thing I could easily specialize in.
Jacob is my oldest grandson. My husband and I were meeting them while they were out camping at the Lake Delta park, and this is exactly how I found him, I took a photo of him, but didn’t know at that time I would later be using it for the model of a painting. This painting was the final result of that photograph. We had a cookout, family gathered together, and a good meal.
Jacob has since grown up, and id now a U.S. Marine. It goes without saying that we are so very proud of him.
What more from life could one ask for?
Because I live here, many of the photographs I take are taken here in Rome. I work from these photos for many of my reverse painting on glass. Many Romans are of Italian descent, and this is the way it was for years, As time goes by, I find that many more hail from other distant parts of the world.
In a six pane window sash that measures 23″ x 28″, the idea for this reverse painting on glass originated on the shore of Oneida Lake when my daughter Bobbi was feeding ducks.
In addition to free shipping and handling, I will also offer a 20% discount or rebate as the case may be, for any purchases of 2 or more paintings.continue reading
Horse Paintings are among my favorite to do. There are days when ‘my favorite’ encompasses a lot of territory, but really, has there ever been a more beautiful sight?
When I was a teen-ager, I somehow managed to talk my father into letting me get a pony. Her name was Misty, and she was awfully small. Afterward came an Appaloosa horse. He was a light grey, and the spots only showed when he was wet from bathing. His name was Chief. He was green broke when I bought him, and I wasn’t even that far along. We worked out together, and became great friends. What a lot of work, and responsibility they were! But it lasted for years, and it did not even keep me too busy for trouble. You have to admit, there were some negotiating talents in place!
This continued until I was severely injured and in the hospital for 6 weeks. I did get back on her, but admittedly, with less enthusiasm. Maybe I never got over it though. This morning I bought a wooden rocking horse at a barn sale. Will post immediately if I ever grow up.
Butterfly and Dragonfly Paintings are wonderfully fun to do for me. They are always dressed so magnificently, and I only wish that I was! Many times I work on my paintings with photographs nearby to use as reference, so I have gone out to do my own photo sessions at times. One summer day, there was a Swallow Tail butterfly in the flower bed. That was the first and last time I ever got attacked by a butterfly! I must have gotten too close, and it began beating it’s wings on my face. I let out a few screeches before I began laughing hysterically by the time I got up the driveway.
